The 2023 League of Legends (LoL) World Championship, a global e-sports completion, is taking place for the first time in five years in Korea. In celebration, a range of fun events is taking place throughout Seoul for e-sports fans leading up to the final match at the end of November.

Korea Tourism Organization and Riot Games have partnered up to kick off the events with a special exhibition at HiKR Ground. Worlds Playground is a promotional hall for the World Championships, and will be on display from October 7 to November 26. Visitors will find different attractions on each floor such as the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Fan Test Zone; the Shorts Challenge Zone where one can record videos for social media; a booth playing the NewJeans song “GODS,” made exclusively for the World Championships; and other zones to learn more about LCK. The popular donut brand Knotted is also selling a special LCK Sugar Bear donut, and fans can participate in a stamp tour to get a ticket to the World Championships.

Starting November 16, the Worlds Fan Fest will be held for four days in the area around Gwanghwamun Plaza in Jongno-gu. During the event, a large Teemo character will stand over Gwanghwamun Plaza, surrounded by booths for the competing teams and supporting organizations including Seoul Game Week and the Korea Tourism Organization. On November 18, fans can enjoy the music from LoL and the World Championships at the Riot Music Festival, while November 19 will feature a viewing party for the final round of the championships.

The 2023 League of Legends World Championship started on October 10 and will end on November 19, with matches taking place in Seoul and Busan. E-sports fans from across the globe are expected to come to Korea to enjoy the championships.  The 2023 League of Legends (LoL) World Championship, a global e-sports completion, is taking place for the first time in five years in Korea.
